Why we Volunteer

Our rescue is an ALL VOLUNTEER operation. No one makes a salary; every person who helps transport, feed, screen applications, check homes, coordinate events, manage finances, or any other task is a volunteer, doing it for love. Why do we all do it?

Anyone who volunteers for RMGDRI knows that they are making an important contribution to the life of the dogs in our care, and the dogs who are waiting for our help. Even if you never see or touch a Dane in person, the minutes and hours that you put in make a huge difference. We have volunteers for whom RMGDRI is literally their full-time job plus some; we have people that can only find an hour once a month or so to pitch in. Every one of these folks is vital to our success, and to the lives of the dogs in our care.

Volunteering is truly inspiring, and fun. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing you have helped a dog who had nowhere else to go. And we have lots of fun with our Dane buddies as well as the other humans who love to help them.

This rescue quite simply wouldn't exist without volunteers. So, can you help? Even an hour a month can help - you can process an application, help with an event, staff a booth for a shift. Please find the time...the Danes need you!
